Knightdale, NC — In a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Chi Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is partnering with the Town of Knightdale to host an Interfaith Community Service event on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The gathering will take place at First and Main, located at 315 N First Avenue in downtown Knightdale.

The event invites residents of all backgrounds to come together in reflection, unity, and service—values deeply rooted in Dr. King’s vision for a just and compassionate society. Local faith leaders and community members will share messages of hope and solidarity, reinforcing the importance of collective action and mutual respect.

In addition to the service, organizers are leading a food donation drive to support the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Packs. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable, child-friendly lunch items such as ramen, mac & cheese cups, and Chef Boyardee meals. These donations will help fill weekend food gaps for children in need across Eastern Wake County.

The Town of Knightdale continues to champion inclusive events that foster civic engagement and neighborly care. All are welcome to attend and participate in this meaningful day of remembrance and giving.
